Community Centre
The first Permanent project of the club was the “DHAKSHAYANI AMMAL COMMUNITY CENTRE” was built in Mettukuppam village near Vanagaram and opened on 25th June 1978 to start its services to the poor. General Medicine clinic and Dental clinic functioned for the benefit of the village people. Health Camps, Medical Camps, Educational Assistance, Tuitions and Vocational training etc being provided to the members of the village for the past 45 years. A new library in the name of Dr.Abdul Kalam is also functioning for the benefit of children and villagers. Celebrations include the Independence day, Abdul Kalam birthday, Vinayagar Chathurti, Deepavali, Ayudha Pooja etc.
SV Diagnostic Centre
Our 2nd project “Swami Vivekananda Diagnostic Centre (SVDC)” was started on 1st March 1998, with a Vision to provide ‘COST TO COST DIAGNOSTIC FACILITIES’ to the medically under-served and to the economically weak people of Chennai. This innovative ground breaking project has grown from a 600 sq. ft single chamber inside the D.G.Vaishnav College campus, Arumbakkam to a 6000 square feet area offering all diagnostic services from blood tests to MRI Scan to more than 15,000 patients per month comprising a delightful mixture of the needy patients, the diabetic on the street, the man on the move, the busy software employee, the calorie conscious housewife, the poor pregnant lady and the early morning joggers of Anna Nagar.
AL Diagnostic Centre
Our 3rd project was the “ANNA NAGAR LIONS DIAGNOSTIC CENTRE (ALDC)” was started in June 2013 and has completed more than 10 years of service. It was started with the main objective to provide the highest possible quality in diagnostic services, on a cost to cost basis at the lowest possible rates, to the economically weak people of North Chennai. The centre also has all the diagnostic facilities from Blood Test to MRI Scan.
Eye Hospital
Our 4th project is “LIONS EYE HOSPITAL” – This hospital was started by Lions Club of Madras Host in 1975 and will be celebrating its Golden Jubilee in 2025. This Charitable Eye Hospital was successfully managed by them until the Covid pandemic in 2020. After the pandemic the Lions Club of Anna Nagar is managing the services of the Eye Hospital and Dental Clinic for the past 3 years.

Governing Body of Permanent Projects
The Lions Club of Anna Nagar Charitable Trust manages the Permanent Projects. The Trust consists of 15 Trustees who are chosen from the members of Lions Club of Anna Nagar. There are 3 Permanent Trustees who manage the Permanent aspects of the functioning of the Trust. The Managing Trustee, Secretary and Treasurer elected from the Trustees manage the regular activities of the Trust. The President, Secretary and Treasurer of the Club are also ex officio Trustees. Apart from them the Trustees are elected from the Club Past Presidents and Directors. The Club President also appoints a Committee with a Chairman and members who run the day today activities of each project. The Trust members along with the Project Chairman meet regularly every month to discuss the activities of the projects and recommend the necessary changes and upgradations for the projects.
