Lions Club of Anna Nagar

On 13th June 1977, the Lions Club of Anna Nagar with its members formed a Charitable Trust to carry out its Service Activities for the community. Thus the Lions Club of Anna Nagar Charitable Trust was formed.

The Club grew in strength with its own permanent projects to serve the society. Charter Member Ln. P Vidhyadharan, in an extraordinary philanthrophic move donated 2 grounds of Land (worth several crores now) in the prime Nelson Manickam Road. The grounds were later sold and the Community Centre in mother’s memory was started in 1978 in Mettukuppam Village. In 1998 an enthusiastic Ln P. Premnath with the help of few doctors and the then President Ln. P. Janardhanam sowed the seed for a Diagnostic Centre expanding into the Medical field. Another philanthropic Ln. S. V. Manickam from the club envisioned a diagnostic centre to serve the people of North Madras and added another branch in 2013 and now the club expanded to Cataract Surgeries in 2021 by adopting the Lions Eye Hospital.

The medical field is constantly evolving and the Club has managed to serve the Poor and Downtrodden with its very Low Cost – High Quality Diagnostic Services and Cataract Surgeries. The patients who come from far flung distances around Chennai stand testimony to the service of the Club to the Society. The Centres and Hospital are well appreciated by the Doctors referring patients to our centres. The patients also feel that they are getting the best Medical Services and value for money they are paying.
